Blue Lagoon, Padang Bai: Bali's Calmest Bay

Tucked around the headland from Padang Bai's harbour, Blue Lagoon is a small, sheltered bay that consistently has some of the clearest, calmest water on this coast — which is exactly why it's our go-to spot for first-timers.

What's Underwater

The bay's protected shape keeps swell and current to a minimum most days. A sandy bottom slopes gently down to coral bommies scattered with reef fish, and green turtles are regularly spotted grazing in the shallows — a near-guaranteed highlight for snorkelers and new divers alike.

Who It Suits

Blue Lagoon is where we run PADI Open Water confined and shallow open-water sessions, because the conditions are forgiving enough for students still building confidence. It's equally suited to snorkeling families, non-swimmers using a life jacket, and divers looking for a relaxed second dive of the day.

Beyond the Bay

If your group has a mix of confidence levels, Blue Lagoon works well as a base — less experienced divers and snorkelers stay in the bay, while certified divers can head slightly further out to current-exposed sites near Padang Bai in the same trip.
