Course Requirements vs. Internship Time

The Divemaster certification itself requires 40 logged dives, watermanship exercises, and a set of knowledge and practical assessments. An internship wraps that requirement inside a longer stay — typically 4 to 8 weeks — where you also assist real Open Water and Advanced courses, help run fun dive trips, and get comfortable with the day-to-day work of a dive center.

A Typical Week

Expect a mix of your own skills practice, assisting instructors in confined and open water, equipment maintenance, and briefing guests on trips to Tulamben, Amed, or Nusa Penida. By the later weeks, interns are usually leading briefings and shadowing guiding duties directly.

Prerequisites

• PADI Advanced Open Water and Rescue Diver certifications.
• EFR Primary and Secondary Care (or equivalent) within 24 months.
• 20 logged dives before starting, 40 by certification.
